ANDOVER – The Hays High School volleyball team’s season came to a close Saturday with a Class 5A sub-state semifinal loss to Valley Center. The Indians, the No. 7 seed in the Goddard-Eisenhower bracket, fell 25-19, 25-21 to No. 10 Valley Center.

The loss ended Hays High’s season at 24-12. Tasiah Nunnery led the way with 11 kills while Hannah McGuire recorded 14 assists. Kallie Leiker had 11 digs, while Jaysa Wichers and Tasiah Nunnery each recorded three solo blocks.

The Thomas More Prep-Marian volleyball team fell 17-25, 20-25 to Phillipsburg in the first match of the day in Saturday's Class 3A sub-state at Phillipsburg. The Panthers went on to advance to the final before falling to Beloit in three sets.
