COFFEYVILLE — The Thomas More Prep-Marian boys soccer team claimed a regional title and advanced to the Class 4-3-2-1A quarterfinals with a 3-0 win on Thursday at Coffeyville.

The Monarchs got on the board with senior Logan Shaw's goal 15 minutes into the game off an assist from senior Sheldon Weber. Junior Ethan Brummer then connected on a shot from 25 yards out with 13 minutes left in the half.

Weber found Shaw again with nine minutes left in the game.

Senior goalkeeper Bobby Cox pitched the shutout with eight saves.

"It was the best game they've played all season, a complete 80 minutes," TMP coach Shea Koerner said of his team.

Unofficially, TMP (8-7) is expected to host the state quarterfinal against Topeka-Hayden on Thursday.
