A former Hays USD 489 paraeducator was sentenced to probation Monday to a charge of aggravated endangerment of a child.

Taylor Rogers will serve the probation with Court Services after pleading in November to the lesser charge. She had originally been charged in November 2017 with attempted unlawful sexual relations for attempting to solicit a sexual act from a 17-year-old Hays High School student.

The student refused, according to court documents, and was not present for the sentencing Monday. He had been notified of the sentence through his mother, Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees said.
