Phillipsburg’s Trey Sides highlighted area representation on the Kansas Football Coaches Association All-State football team released Tuesday, with Sides earning a spot on the Top 11 from the KFBCA.

Sides put up 1,175 passing yards with 21 touchdowns, helping lead the Panthers to an undefeated run to the Class 2A state championship.

The senior quarterback was an All-Class 2A pick on offense along with Panthers’ kicker Jonathan Hunnacutt. Phillipsburg linebacker Kasen Keeten and defensive back Nathan Moon made the 2A defensive team, and Phillipsburg coach J.B. Covington was 2A coach of the year.

Class 1A state champion Smith Center placed four on the Class 1A team — running backs Colby Benoit and Ethan Peterson, defensive lineman Austin Hobelmann and linebacker Logan Zabel.

Plainville was represented on the 2A team by kicker Tanner Copeland and linebacker Kobe Spiess.

Norton tight end Hayden Wiltfong was a 2A pick at tight end.
