The Thomas More Prep-Marian girls basketball team used a strong second half to pick up a 42-27 win over Oakley in Tuesday's Mid-Continent League tournament quarterfinal at Al Billinger Fieldhouse. 

The Monarchs led 17-12 at halftime before opening up a 17-point lead by the end of the third quarter. 

Senior Jillian Lowe led TMP with 18 points while junior Adell Riedel chipped in 10. TMP moved to 7-3 on the season. 

The No. 3-seeded Monarchs are set to take on No. 2-seeded Norton in the semifinals in WaKeeney on Friday, weather permitting. Norton advanced with a 47-34 win over Phillipsburg. Top-seeded Trego, a 57-39 winner over Ellis on Tuesday, will meet Smith Center in the other semifinal. The Lady Red beat Plainville 52-46 in the quarterfinals.
