WAKEENEY — The Phillipsburg boys basketball team claimed its third straight Mid-Continent League Tournament, picking up a 60-46 win over Thomas More Prep-Marian on Saturday in the title game at Trego Community High School. 

Senior guard Trey Sides scored a game-high 22 points while Austin Miller added 18 for the Panthers. 

Phillipsburg jumped out to a 19-6 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. 

TMP was led by Jared Mayers’ 16 points while Jackson Schulte added 13. 

The girls MCL title game down to the wire, with Norton claiming its first tournament title in 10 years by edging Trego 53-50 in overtime.
