Foundation will help train nonprofit leaders
Special to the HDN
Heartland Community Foundation, which encompasses Ellis, Trego and Rooks counties, will have a free leadership training seminar for directors and board members of nonprofit organizations from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 10 at the Robbins Center on the campus of Fort Hays State University. Lunch is not provided.
"Most board members have only 3-5 hours a month to volunteer for their respective organizations," said seminar coordinator Mendi Alexander, past chairwoman of the Heartland Community Foundation board, said. "Nonprofit board members who want to learn how to make those hours more productive should come and listen to Steve Alley, a nationally known consultant on volunteer board training. Mr. Alley will show seminar participants how to create a plan and become more productive in the most strategic way possible."
To register, RSVP by Sept. 9 to Bob Lowen, foundation executive director, at (785) 621-4090 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
