Sharon Springs man in line to become president of NAWG

Sharon Springs farmer David Schemm is just starting in the rotation that eventually could lead to his election as president of the National Association of Wheat Growers.

Schemm recently was elected secretary-treasurer of the group at a meeting in San Antonio, Texas. He is past president of the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers.

Also elected as president of the group was Paul Penner, a Hillsboro farmer.

Members of the NAWG's executive committee agree to serve at least five years when they first run for the role of secretary-treasurer, as they move into new officer roles.
