HPD nabs parole violator

Just before 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Hays Police Department received word from the Wichita Police Department that Jose G. Jimenez, 29, possibly was in Hays, and that Jimenez had violated his parole. A copy of an arrest and detain order was obtained from the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Just before 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Hays Police Department received word from the Wichita Police Department that Jose G. Jimenez, 29, possibly was in Hays, and that Jimenez had violated his parole. A copy of an arrest and detain order was obtained from the Kansas Department of Corrections.

The Hays Police Department learned Jimenez was staying at a motel with his girlfriend and their children. In an effort to ensure the safety of the children and the occupants of the motel, the Ellis County Special Situation Response Team and the Kansas Bureau of Investigations High Risk Warrant Team were called to assist with the arrest.

Jimenez was located in a motel room and taken into custody without incident. He is being held in the Ellis County jail.
