2 injured in rural Sheridan County accident

HOXIE -- Two northwest Kansas residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9 a.m. Friday morning.

HOXIE -- Two northwest Kansas residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9 a.m. Friday morning.

The accident occurred approximately 6 miles north of Hoxie at the intersection of Sheridal County roads 10E and 60N.

A pickup driven by Richard Rachel Jr., 31, Hoxie, struck a pickup driven by Lisa M. Jones, 34, Oakley, after Jones failed to yield, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol report.

Richard sustained possible injuries, while Jones was injured, according to the report. Both were taken to Sheridan County Health Complex.

Richard was wearing a seatbelt, while Jones was not, according to the report.
