WALKER -- No one was injured when a vehicle slid off Interstate 70 Wednesday morning on a remaining patch of ice from last week's winter storms.

The incident occurred at milepost 172 in Ellis County near Walker Bridge. The vehicle also was not damaged, said Tod Hileman, public information officer with the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Details were not released because the KHP does not publish incidents with no injuries or vehicle damage, Hileman said.

A "snow pocket" caused the incident, he said.

"We had that high wind, and with all the snow built up in the fields around I-70, there were places where the snow was getting blown across I-70 and causing icy, slick conditions," he said.
