Another dirty, windy day
By MIKE CORN
REXFORD -- Daylight turned into darkness once again Monday, the third time it has done so in less than a week.
Winds gusted at speeds in excess of 50 mph, as yet another cold front -- bearing down on the East Coast -- pushed through, kicking up dust as it swept through extreme northwest Kansas.
Conditions will be only slightly better today, as wind speed will drop a bit.
Still, a red flag warning has been issued for seven far northwest Kansas counties as drier winds will pick up once again.
No accidents as a result of the blowing dust were reported Monday, in sharp contrast with last week's 11-vehicle pileup near Rexford that killed three people.
