Rain was the big event in northwest Kansas on Thursday.
Nearly an inch of rain in Hays was reported to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network — better known as CoCoRaHS — from storms that marched through the area.
The highest amount in Ellis County was 1.41 inches northeast of Hays, with a report of 1.15 inches south of Ellis.
Northeast Trego County had reports of nearly 2 inches of rain from the storms.
In far eastern Rush County, near the Barton County line, a report of 3.67 inches was submitted.
Rush County also was in a tornado warning for a short time, but no damage ever was reported.
