Boil order in effect southwest of Hays until Monday
By The Hays Daily News
A 6-inch water main supplying Ellis County Rural Water District 1C developed a leak overnight Thursday, requiring repair efforts all day Friday, said John Moeder, maintenance man for the district and also a board member.
Repair efforts started at 6 a.m. and finished at 7 p.m. Moeder said residents in the district, which is in the southern part of the county, should receive water by Friday night.
Due to water contamination while repairing the line, residents in the district are under a boil water advisory until Monday, Moeder said.
Residents are asked to boil water for at least 1 minute before drinking or using in food preparation. To see a complete list of boil order advisories suggested by the Centers for Disease Control, click HERE.
