TOPEKA -- Kansas Senate Majority Leader Terry Bruce, R- Hutchinson, endorsed Meg Wilson for State Board of Education District Five.

Senator Bruce stated: "While I've been fighting in Topeka for local government control, Washington DC and parts of Topeka continue to tell us what is best for our children. Meg has fought for your children starting as an Elementary school teacher in Smith Center all the way through her career as the current Principal of Hoisington High School. Unless we want to continue to export our children to other states we have to allow our local school boards the ability to educate our children for the growing needs of western Kansas.

Her opponent has been financially endorsed in the Republican primary by the Democrat Party Chair as well as the Democrat nominee for Lieutenant Governor. We must stop allowing the Democrats from tampering in Republican primaries. "

Meg Wilson said, "My vision for the Kansas State Board of Education is one which allows local school boards to empower administration, staff, students, and community to work together as a team. I thank Majority Leader Terry Bruce for his endorsement today and will continue to work hard on behalf of the children of Kansas."
