Ada Lavon Stiawalt, 96, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City.

She was born Nov. 15, 1916, near Alexander to Henry and Alice (Bott) Boese. She was a 1936 graduate of Bazine High School.

She married Glenn Stiawalt on Sept. 24, 1939. He preceded her in death Aug. 1, 1977. She lived in Beeler and Spearville before moving to Ness City in 1949. She taught country schools for six years. They were partners in West Side Service and members of First Baptist Church, Ness City.

Survivors include a son, Bill, and his wife, Marilyn; eight grandchildren, Darin, Kevin, Diedra, Jessica, Judy, Jason, Paul and Heather; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Dannewitz, on Aug. 5, 2005; four brothers, Art, Harvey, Ralph and Eddie Boese; and a sister, Divina Keller.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Ness City; burial in Ness City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the funeral home.
