Adolph Honas, 75, Arvada, Colo., died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital, Wheatridge, Colo., after a battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 5, 1937, near Ellis to William and Mary Honas. He attended school at St. Mary Catholic Grade School and was a 1956 graduate of Ellis High School.
He married Carol Brungardt on Feb. 27, 1965. After returning home from the service, he moved to Colorado and entered the plumbing profession. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1960 to 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Arvada; four sons, Robert Pettijohn and wife, Jane, Michael Pettijohn and wife, Tammy, Steven Pettijohn and wife, Melody, and Scott Honas, all of Arvada; two brothers, Henry Honas and wife, Joyce, Copan, Okla., and Bill Honas and wife, Brenda, Westminster, Colo.; two sisters, Dorothy Dechant and Tillie Leiker and husband, Milton, Hays; three grandsons; three granddaughters; two step-grandsons; and two step-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alfred; and a nephew, Greg Honas.
Services were April 5 at St. John of Arc Catholic Church, Arvada; burial in Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery.
