Alana Rae Rogers, 71, Ness City, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City.

She was born Jan. 9, 1943, in San Antonio to Paul and Mamie Vernique Crawshaw.

She married Orval Silvester Rogers on Feb. 9, 1965, in Nowata, Okla. He preceded her in death March 8, 1989. She was a farmer's wife and a certified nurse's aide.

She was a member of the Bookaholic's Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Malena Rogers, Wichita, and Mamie Rogers, Ness City; a stepson, Ben Rogers and wife, Janette, Liebenthal; a stepdaughter, Donna Hansen and husband, Lee, Hays; a brother, Ronald Paul Crawshaw and wife, Ruthanne, McCracken; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Alan Orval Rogers; and a stepson, James Edward Rogers.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorials are suggested to McCracken Library in care of the funeral home.
