Albert James "Red" Russell, 70, Alma, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He was born June 29, 1944, in Phillips County to Charley and Julia (Ragsdale) Russell.
Survivors include his wife, Madelyn, of the home in Alma; a son, Andrew Jackson Russell, Fort Smith; two daughters, Tammy Kay Flynn, Fort Smith, and Angela Clawson, Lewis; four brothers, Andy Russell and Ralph Russell, both of Phillipsburg, George Russell, Agra, and Loyd Russell, Hoxie; two sisters, Alice Wing, Salina, and Ruth McElhaney, Quinter; and stepchildren, grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Services were Saturday at Lewis-Roberts Funeral Home, Fort Smith; burial was Tuesday in VA Cemetery, Fort Smith, with full military honors.
