Alfred Homeier, 88, Wilson, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Good Samaritan in Ellsworth.

He was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Lincoln County to Wilhelm and Emma (Friebus) Homeier.

He married Marie F. Pracher on June 12, 1946. He was a farmer and stockman. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Gordon Homeier, Wilson, and Loren Homeier, New Cambria; three daughters, Kathleen Jefferson, Omaha, Neb., Marjorie Rolfs, Otis, and Bonita Ploutz, Ellsworth; a brother, Lenhardt Homeier, Wilson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lucas; burial in Wilson City Cemetery, with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard and Wilson American Legion Post.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Foster Mortuary, Wilson, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or 390th Memorial Museum in care of the mortuary.
