Alice Louise Nelson, 86, Oakley, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Logan County Hospital.
She was born March 11, 1927, in Oakley to Simon and Myrtle (Dishong) Dawson.
She married Claude Nelson on March 3, 1967, in Oakley. He preceded her in death. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator for 35 years.
Survivors include a son, David Nelson and wife, Sherri, Oakley; two daughters, Debby Fieser and husband, Glen, Norwich and Donna Nelson-Atkins and husband, Joe, Liberal; a stepson, Ronald Nelson and wife, Debra, Dayton, Ga.; a sister, Mae Cousins, Oakley; six grandchildren, Tammy and Debbie Nelson, both of Oakley, Mike Nelson, Fairview, Texas, Bryce Childers, Ponca City, Okla., Jason Plummer, Liberal, and Tylor Plummer, Ulysses; two great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Gilbert, Darrold, Raymond and Archie Dawson; a sister, Cora Vavricka; and a stepdaughter, Carol Goswick.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley; burial in Oakley City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
