Alvina E. Moos, 98, Grinnell, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, Quinter.
She was born Sept. 22, 1914, in Sheridan County to Jacob and Katherina (Wessel) Schlageck.
She married John Moos on Oct. 9, 1934, in Angelus. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Moos and wife, Marjorie, and Dennis Moos and wife, Charla, all of Grinnell; two daughters, Denora Holzinger, Moberly, Mo., and Darlene Schaffer and husband, Gerald, Hoxie; a sister, Dorothy Ladenburger and husband, George, Oakley; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, LeRoy Moos in 2012; six sisters, Martha Cox, Cecilia Esslinger, Eleanor Baalmann, Agnes Harrington, Georgina Davis and Pauline Albers; and a step-brother, Alvin Albers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell; burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church parish center.
A rosary/wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the center.
