Ann Lee Stieben, 78, Bazine, formerly of Ness City, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at her home.

She was born Oct. 31, 1934, in La Crosse to Lawrence and Mollie (Reifschneider) Bott. She was a graduate of La Crosse High School.

She married Billy Wayne Margheim on Feb. 13, 1955. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1992. She later married Carl H. Stieben on Nov. 28, 1999. He preceded her in death Nov. 15, 2011. In earlier years, she had been a secretary for Bazine High School, relief postmaster for Bazine, restaurant owner and retired in 1998 from the ASCS office.

She was a member of Ness City American Legion Auxiliary and Bazine United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Danny Margheim, Denver; two daughters, Tina Slagle and husband, Brent, Ness City, and Lori Hertel and friend, Bob Black, Bazine; a sister, Lilah Hallett, Rush Center; three half-sisters, Karen Powell and Faye Bott, both of Garden City, and Judy Godek, Texas; two stepdaughters, Lora Bruntz and husband, Eldon, and Lynette Stenzel and husband, Loren; two stepsons, Lonnie Stieben and wife, Karin, and Nick Stieben and wife, Tonetta; three grandchildren, Andrea Slagle and husband, Joe, Melissa Vavricka and husband, Chris, and Lucas Hertel and wife, Brandy; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Taylor Vavricka; 10 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Elvina Rodie Bott; and three aunts, Nora Foos, Rose Moore and Hilda Haskin.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bazine United Methodist Church; graveside services following in Bazine Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Bazine United Methodist Church or Bazine American Legion.
