Anthony Drees, 75, Athens, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in Tyler, Texas.

He was born Aug. 1, 1937, in Hays to Fredericus and Alberta (Binder) Drees.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed drinking coffee with friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lila Fischer Drees, Athens; four sons, Marc Drees and wife, Lynne, Moyock, N.C., Brad Drees, Wellsville, Mitch Drees and wife, Shelly, Salina, and Shawn and wife, Flavia Dasilva-Farris, Clermont, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Justin Drees, Emma Drees, Tate Drees, Riley Drees, Kaitlyn Meyers, Keenan Drees and Isabella Farris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Vergil Drees, Ed Drees, Kenneth Drees; and a sister, Norma Drees.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Athens.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice in care of the funeral home.
