Arthur Eli Balthazor Jr., 80, died Saturday, July 19, 2014, in Wichita.

He was born Nov. 16, 1933, in Zurich to Arthur and Clara (Thyfault) Balthazor. He was a 1951 graduate of Palco High School.

He married Maralene Hadley on May 9, 1953, in Zurich. He was a U.S. Navy veteran in 1952. He enjoyed ballgames, helping on the farm, and playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul Balthazor, Wichita, and Tony Balthazor and wife, Vicki, Palco; four daughters, Sister Becky Balthazor, Tamera DeRee and husband, Mike, and Theresa Gross, all of Wichita, and Shelley Budke, Stillwater, Okla.; two sisters, Joanna Boyles and Audrey Cone and husband, John, California; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jennette Gennette; a brother, Hubert Balthazor; a granddaughter, Nicole Budke; and a son-in-law, Kurt Budke.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wichita; graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Center of Hope, Wichita.
