August Earnest Priefert Jr.
August Earnest Priefert Jr., 83, Gove, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.
He was born Aug. 3, 1925, in rural Gove County to August E. Priefert Sr. and Lilly Mae (Eichman) Priefert. He was a 1943 graduate of Gove High School.
He married Betty Jo (Gillespie) Priefert on Dec. 31, 1955. She preceded him in death Aug. 29, 2005. He was a farmer and rancher.
Survivors include a son, Kirk Priefert, Gove; a sister, Arleen Yale, Grainfield; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Don Priefert.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Gove; burial in Gove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.
Memorials are suggested to GCIA or Gove United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
Kirk, Your Dad will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
