Aura R. Tanis
Aura R. Tanis, 89, Cawker City, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008.
He was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Smith County to Martin and Laura (Sneller) Tanis.
He was a retired farmer/stockman.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve, of the home; two sons, James and wife, Ruth, Hays and John and wife, Jan, Cawker City; two daughters, Barbara Hoogeveen and husband, Phil, Sully, Iowa and Bonnie Tanis, Downs; a brother, Lawrence and wife, Ileen, Downs; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Greenwald and husband, Darell, Tustin, Calif.; four grandchildren, Emily and Amy Hoogeveen, and Holly and Matt Tanis; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dispatch Christian Reformed Church, Cawker City; burial in East Dispatch Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, at Domoney Funeral Home, P.O. Box 127, Downs.
Memorials are suggested to Dispatch Christian Reformed Church music fund in care of the funeral home.
