Aylene Kay Barrett, 63, Ness City, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at her home.

She was born Aug. 6, 1947, in Ness City to Robert and Lorene Stecklein Pfannenstiel.

She married David Barrett on Aug. 2, 1974, in Ness City. She was the clerk of the board for the Ness City USD 303 school district for 39 years until retirement in 2010.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Sean Barrett and wife, Tamara, Overland Park; her mother; a brother, Tim Pfannenstiel, Great Bend; two sisters, Gloria Mlinek, Hays, and Andra Wagner, Englewood, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Kailee and Davis Barrett, Overland Park.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ness City; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends can call from 4 to 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, all at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
