Alice Rose Barber

Alice Rose Barber, 93, WaKeeney, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 14, 1915, in rural Ellis County to Thomas Charles and Selma Berhardina (Wahlborg) Feezor.

She graduated from Brownell High School and earned a teaching certificate.

She married Doyle R. Barber on June 11, 1936, in Ness City. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1992. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Barber, Hays, and Richard Barber, Wichita; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, WaKeeney; burial in WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
