Bernard Earl 'Bud' Bagby

Bernard Earl "Bud" Bagby, 74, Holton, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, following a short battle with cancer at Midland Care Hospice House, Topeka.

He was born Aug. 6, 1937, in Villa Ridge, Ill., to Cecil Mae (Claxton) and Richard Earl Bagby.

He married Judith Mae "Judy" Dallan on Feb. 8, 1960, in Hugoton. He was a diesel mechanic for Foley Tractor (Caterpillar) and Hoskinson Implement (John Deere). He was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in France for three years.  

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, of the home; two sons, David Bagby and wife, Valerie, Perryton, Texas, and Alan Bagby, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Kim Dinkel and husband, Chris, Hays; three brothers, Bill Bagby, Fairplay, Mo., Donnie Bagby, Lyons, and Bobby Bagby, Sterling; two sisters, Mary Nichols, Medicine Lodge, and Lorraine Barnes, Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Katelyn "Katie" and Joslyn Dinkel, both of Hays, and Landon and Lauren Bagby, both of Holton.  

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Holton; burial in Holton Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Midland Care Hospice House, Topeka, or Sublette Christian Church Benevolence food pantry fund in care of the funeral home.
