Bessie L. Allen, 82, Lebanon, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Hays Good Samaritan Center.

She was born Oct. 8, 1930, north of Athol to Carl Ernest and Marie Pauline (Guderlei) Osthoff.

She married Duane Allen on July 31, 1952. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Glen Allen and wife, Melissa, and Lee Allen, all of Smith Center; three daughters, Carol Rietcheck and husband, Danny, Grinnell, Cheryl Schmeidler and husband, Michael, Hays, and Doris Olena and husband, Harold, Nixa, Mo.; a brother, Carl A. Osthoff and wife, Phyllis, Athol; a sister, Peggy Anschutz, Gorham; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Clara Wescoat.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, Smith Center; burial in Price Cemetery, Lebanon.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of service Monday, both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
