Bette J. Quinley, 90, Great Bend, formerly of Salina, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.
She was born May 22, 1919, in Long Beach, Calif., to Francis and Margaret (McQuillian) Johannes. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and attended two years at Marymount College, where she studied business.
She married Philip Sullivan Quinley on July 17, 1942, in Long Beach. He preceded her in death in 1955. She worked for Centel Electric Co. in Great Bend as an administration assistant for more 30 years before retiring in 1985.
Survivors include a son, Philip Quinley, Carmichael, Calif.; a daughter, Peggy Beck, Russell; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church-St. Patrick Center; burial in Great Bend City Cemetery.
Family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell, and from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Woodhaven Care Center in care of the mortuary.
