Betty F. Shoaff, 84, Great Bend, formerly of Wilson, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend.

She was born May 1, 1929, in Wilson to Edward and Emma (Chrudimsky) Hanzlicek.

She married Samuel C. Shoaff on May 22, 1955, in Wilson.

She worked for Great Bend USD 428 food service.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Great Bend.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Brian Shoaff and wife, Laura, Hays; and two grandchildren, Morgan Shoaff and Alexa Shoaff.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Gilbert Hanzlicek, Duane Hanzlicek, Glenn Hanzlicek, Larry Hanzlicek and Bob Hanzlicek.

Private family graveside inurnment will be at a later date in Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney.

A public reception also will be at a later date.

There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place.

Memorials are requested to First United Methodist Church or Harden Hospice in care of Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend.
