Betty Jane (Yost) Laubhan, 84, Russell, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Russell Regional Hospital.

She was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Miami, Okla., to Mark and Irene (Logan) Yost. She grew up and attended schools in the southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma area and was a 1946 graduate of Commerce High School, Commerce, Okla.

She married Hubert Alexander Laubhan on Jan. 25, 1947, in Russell. He preceded her in death Oct. 26, 2008, after 61 years of marriage. She was the Russell County clerk for more than 26 years, retiring in 1994.

Survivors include her two sons, Larry Laubhan and Michael Laubhan; a daughter, Lizbeth Thielen; a brother, Bill Yost; a sister, Carol Shouse; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell; private family committal will follow in Russell City Cemetery.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church in care of the mortuary.
