Betty Lou Cain, 83, Salina, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Kaye Pogue Hospice of Salina.
She was born Jan. 8, 1929, in Atchison to Ada and Theodore Rapstine. She was a 1946 graduate of Atchison High School.
She worked for the city of Salina and retired from Salina USD 305, where she worked as a secretary for the Central Kansas Cooperative in Education.
She enjoyed ceramics and was an avid golfer. She volunteered at USD 305 and most recently was an active volunteer at SRHC. She was a member of University United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Donald E. Cain, of the home; a daughter-in-law, Darla Cain-Karst, Hays; a grandson, Mark A. Cain and wife, Sarah, Hays; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Andrew Cain; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Martin D. Cain; a grandson, Douglas S. Cain; a sister, Doris Ochoa; and her parents.
Private family committal service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Roselawn Mortuary, 1307 S. Santa Fe, Salina.
Memorials are suggested to Kay Pogue Hospice of Salina in care of the mortuary.
