Billy 'Bill' Raymond Wilson

Billy "Bill" Raymond Wilson, 75, Hays, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at his home.

He was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Larned to Frank Raymond and Doris Arlene (Cole) Wilson. He was a 1956 graduate of Pawnee Rock High School, attended Hutchinson Community College on a track scholarship and graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in physical education.

He was a real estate appraiser owning and operating Wilson Appraisal Service in Hays since 1985.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was active in the Hays community, serving on various boards and committees, including the wellhead and zoning committees. A few of his most active interests were being an avid K-State fan and involved with the Heartland Catbackers. He enjoyed fishing at Wilson Lake, where he was involved with the Wilson Lake Association, and enjoyed playing gin and Texas hold'em on a regular basis. He was a devoted father and grandfather.

Survivors include two daughters, Marnie Wilson and husband, Casey Lee, and Mindy Wilson, all of Hays; two granddaughters, Mia and Alex Lee, both of Hays; two brothers, Keith Wilson, Wichita, and Randy Wilson, Larned; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Barbara Ater.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, both at Brock's Funeral Home and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
