Carolyn L. Kindel, 60, Hays, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Concordia to John F. Sr. and Velda (Geisler) May. She graduated from Concordia High School and Fort Hays State University with an associate's degree in radiology tech.

She worked for Hays Medical Center as the manager of the central supply until becoming disabled. She continued volunteering in various capacities at the hospital and community after becoming disabled.

She was a member of Healing Hearts for Bereaved Parents and began the local chapter in Hays.

Survivors include two sons, John Kindel and wife, Joy, Olathe, and Jeremy Kindel and wife, Kellie, Pittsfield, Mass.; four brothers, John May Jr., Concordia, David May, Salina, Jerry May and wife, Lavonne, Concordia, and Jeff May and wife, Chris, Salina; two sisters, Kathy Kindel and husband, Eugene, Aurora, Kan., and Angie Rader and husband, James, Killeen, Texas; four grandchildren, Daniel and Meghan Kindel, Emily Smith and husband, Kirby, and Sara Schmidt; and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Hadley Smith.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Donnie Jr. and Joshua; and her parents.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia; private burial will be a later date.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, with family greeting friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Carolyn Kindel Memorial in care of the funeral home.
