Ida M. Carpenter, 90, Phillips County, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Phillip County Hospital.

She was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Phillips County to Fred and Anna (Hofaker) Schoeller.

She married James E. Carpenter on Oct. 3, 1936, in La Crosse. He preceded her in death June 1, 2006.

Survivors include a son, James Henry Carpenter, Weston, Fla.; a daughter, Helen Sue Thomas, Emporia; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Margaret Schultz; and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg; burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or organization of donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
