Chester Graham, 79, Quinter, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.
He was born July 24, 1933, in Gove County to Samuel Earl and Luella Mae (Milroy) Graham.
He married Carlene McWilliams on July 28, 1952.
For the first 12 years of their married life, Chester worked as a janitor for Quinter High School. He and his wife owned and operated Graham's Drive in Flower Mart in WaKeeney and also had greenhouses in WaKeeney and Quinter for many years before taking over the operation and management of the family farms. He was a farmer and rancher for the remainder of his career. He also was a volunteer EMT for Quinter EMS for more than 30 years.
He was a lifelong member of Quinter RP Church and served as an elder of that congregation for approximately 30 years before joining Quinter United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and camping and especially enjoyed vacationing in Colorado.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Quinter; two sons, Ron and wife, Gay, Clay Center, and Joel, Quinter; a daughter, Marianne Jenkins and husband, Bill, Lincoln, Calif.; two brothers, Jimmie Graham, Quinter, and Don Graham and wife, Deanne, Castle Rock, Colo.; three sisters, Rose Boyle and husband, Scott, Arvada, Colo., Shirley Coufal and husband, Gerry, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sharon Estes and husband, Kenn, Canon City, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Graham.
There will be private family services at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
