Christopher Allen Schmid, 25, El Dorado, formerly of Hays, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at his home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1987, in Goodland to Mark and Patricia (Kyner) Schmid. He was a 2006 graduate of Hays High School and received a bachelor of science degree from Fort Hays State University in 2010.

He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation as a geology associate.

He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed shooting guns with his dad, and hunting and fishing with family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Hays; a sister, Sarah Kyner, Bison; and his grandmothers, Mary Schmid, Hays, and Ada Kyner, Sharon Springs.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald Kyner and Andrew Schmid; and an uncle, Brian Schmid.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church, 29th and Indian Trail; graveside services and interment will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery, Atwood.

Friends can call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Ana's Gift or Toys for Tots, both in Hays.

Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, is in charge of arrangements.
