Clara F. Schulz, 99, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at her daughter's home in Plainville.

She was born July 11, 1914, in Bison to John and Freda (Hildebrand) Thielenhaus. She received a bachelor's degree from Fort Hays State College in 1960.

She married Herbert John Schulz on Aug. 5, 1936. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and teacher.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Plainville. She wrote and published poetry she shared with her family and church family.

Survivors include a son, Randy Schulz, Concordia; two daughters, Carol Mullenix and husband, Doug, McLouth, and Kay Ross, Plainville; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, JoAnn Scheuerman; four brothers, Fred, William, Elmer and Carl; and a sister, Martha Fritch.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Plainville; burial in Plainville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Plainville.

Memorials are suggested to Clara Schulz Memorial Fund, with money to be designated by the family at a later date, in care of the funeral home, 320 S.W. Second, Plainville, KS 67663.
