Clayton Reed Hilyard, 91, Warsaw, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at his home.
He was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Severy to Austin and Aleen Hilyard. He attended business college in Wichita.
He married Frances Walker. He farmed and worked a wheat and cattle operation for 35 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlys Jernigan, Raymore, Mo., and Cynthia Comeau, Oelwein, Iowa; five grandsons; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney; burial in VA Cemetery, WaKeeney.
Memorials are suggested to Veterans Administration or Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home, 336 N. 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
