Betty Jean Clodfelter

Betty Jean Clodfelter, 83, Manhattan, formerly of Plainville and Winfield, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at St. Joseph Village, Manhattan. She was 83.

She was born May 4, 1926, in Arkansas City to Macleod and Susie Hotchkin.

She married Lutie D. Clodfelter on July 20, 1945. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1987.

She was a homemaker and also worked in department stories in Winfield and Plainville for many years.

Survivors include two sisters, Eunice Tupin, Phoenix, and Bobbie Riegle, Winfield; a son, Micheal Clodfelter, Lawrence; a daughter, Linda Schmidt, Alta Vista; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Maxine Braden; and a brother, Donald Hotchkin.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, Manhattan.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Plainville Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Disease Association in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan, KS 66502.
