Gilbert "Jack" Coffeen, 88, Russell, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Russell Regional Hospital.

He was born May 11, 1925, in Dorrance to Frank and Adelia (Weaver) Coffeen. He was a 1943 graduate of Dorrance High School.

He married Irene Hardt on Oct. 14, 1956, in Dorrance. He worked in the oilfields and oilfield supply industry with Buckeye Supply for many years, retiring in 1990.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Gail Downing, Russell; two grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Coffeen.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Dorrance City Cemetery with military rites by The Russell VFW Post No. 6240 Honor Guard after services.

Friends can call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday with family present to greet guests from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to VFW Post No. 6240 or theDorrance American Legion in care of the mortuary.
