Cynthia L. Kohmetscher, 59, McCook, Neb., died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Neb.

She was born March 30, 1955, in Quinter to parents Kenneth R. and Ida M. (Hickert) Hoover. She was a 1973 graduate of Grinnell High School and a graduate of Brown Mackie Business College with an associate's degree in business administration.

She married Tom Kohmetscher on Sept. 3, 1983, in Grinnell. The family made their home in Almena, before moving to McCook in 1990. She then began working at Lifetime Eyecare in 1992.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the St. Patrick Altar Society and was president of the McCook Concert Association. She served on the St. Patrick Parish Council and Fox Theatre Board of Directors.

She enjoyed reading and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, McCook; two daughters, Laura Kohmetscher and Betsy Kohmetscher, both of Kansas City, Mo.; her mother, Lady Lake, Fla.; three sisters, Chris Dinkel and husband, Lenny, Hays, Brenda Beckman and husband, Paul, Oakley, and Barbara Garlisi and husband, Mike, Ocala, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members; and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Hoover; and two brothers, Barney Hoover and Charles Hoover.

Services were Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, McCook; burial in Calvary Cemetery, McCook.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 409 East F St. McCook, Neb., 69001 or AEVPA Fox Theatre, 412 Norris Ave, McCook, NE 69001.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook, is in charge of arrangements.
