Dale Nyberg, 82, Central City, Neb., died Monday, April 7, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island, Neb.

He was born March 30, 1932, in rural Polk County to Walter J. and Rose (Lind) Nyberg. He attended rural Polk County School and was a 1950 graduate of Polk High School.

He married Marilyn Johnson on June 19, 1955, in Polk. He drove school bus for the Central City Public Schools for more than 20 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War and was stationed in Korea for 17 months.

Survivors include his wife, Central City; two sons, Kevin Nyberg and wife, Mary, Hays, and Craig Nyberg, Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Ronald Nyberg and wife, Marilyn, Yankton, S.D.; two sisters, Virginia "Ginny" Samuelson, Polk, and Shirley Schackle, Paola; two sisters-in-law, Julie Nyberg, Loves Park, Ill., and Jane Nyberg, Polk; a granddaughter, Jennifer, Garden City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will were April 10 at Solt Funeral Home, Central City; burial in Central City Cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post No. 6, Central City.

Memorials are suggested to the family.
