Darrel 'Whitey' Maley

Darrel "Whitey" Maley, 64, Wichita, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at his home.

He was born Jan. 20, 1950, in Logan to George Everett Maley and Ruth Irene Brethouwer. In 1968, he graduated from Logan High School, then attended Fort Hays State University for two years.

He married Pam Hovland on May 16, 1983. He lived in Parkville, Mo., and Lawrence, where he retired from the construction industry in 2010. He moved to Wichita, where he married Cindy Davidson on Jan. 15, 2011.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; two sons, Chris Maley and wife, Danielle, and Mark Maley and wife, Kaley, all of Baldwin City; three stepsons, Darrin Habiger and wife, Michelle, Scott City, Dustin Davidson, Webb City, Mo., and Brandon Davidson and wife, Bridget, Kingman; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Hodge and husband, Paul, Spring, Texas; three sisters, Donna Hooper and husband, Lewis, Logan, Leora Forsberg and husband Don, Hays, and Darlene Becker and husband, Clifford, Logan; a brother Ron Maley and wife, Deanna, Milford; and a brother-in-law, Norman Fox, Salina; 16 grandchildren; numerous extended family; and countless friends.

Services will be held at a later date for family and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Darrel Maley Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, KS 67871.
