David Anthony Goddard, 63, Russell, formerly of Hill City, Stockton and Salina, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at his home.

He was born Dec. 5, 1948, in Hays to Elmer E. and Darlene M. (Naiman) Goddard. He was a 1966 graduate of Stockton High School and Beloit Vo-Tech for welding.

He married Jill Annette Torr on Jan. 19, 1969, in Beloit. He was a self-employed welder all of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, of the home; a son, Douglas Neil Goddard, Bunker Hill; a daughter, Amie A. Goddard, Kanopolis; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela M. Goddard.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Russell; graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Morland City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to Russell Boy Scouts Troop No. 118 in care of the mortuary.
