David Lee Cooper, 74, Hoxie, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.

He was born Aug. 11, 1938, in Sheridan County to Robert and Mary Leah (Richardson) Cooper.

He married Shirley L. (Miller) Cooper on Sept. 8, 1957, in Hoxie. She preceded him in death March 21, 2010. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Lee Cooper, Hoxie, and Mark Cooper, Platte City, Mo.; a daughter, Leisha Mencke, Broomfield, Colo.; a brother, Joe Cooper, Hoxie; a sister, Karen Gilliland, Hoxie; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hoxie United Methodist Church; burial in Hoxie City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie.

Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Amusement Co. in care of the funeral home, with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
