Dean H. Ulmer, 93, Hays, formerly of Alma and Beaver City, Neb., and Norton, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Good Samaritan Home, Hays.

He was born May 16, 1916, in Osborne County to Gracen and Opal (Wilcoxson) Ulmer.

He married Erma G. Gregory on Oct. 16, 1946, in Phillipsburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Hays; a son, Gary Ulmer, Olathe; two daughters, Kathy Clark and Jill Carver, both of Hays; seven grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Enfield Funeral Home, Norton; burial in Alma Cemetery, Alma, Neb.

Friends can call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Enfield Funeral Home, Norton.

Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Center Alzheimer's Unit, Hays, in care of the funeral home.
